Are you interest in combining laser technology and 3D printing know-how to your artistic work? The Master’s Degree of Fine Arts programme combines modern technologies to contemporary art, and emphasizes personal artistic expression. Theory of art studies and arts management brings the studies to the context of contemporary art.
The Master’s degree studies are based on blended learning methods including both face-to-face sessions, e-learning and individual artistic studies. Contact sessions and studio working are mainly organized in Skinnarila campus, Lappeenranta. The students have the opportunity to take some of their studies in our partner universities in other countries, and cooperation with a business company is also possible.
The studies consist of lectures, virtual studies, workshops and independent artistic studies. The possibilities to use different technological methods, materials and equipment offers a large spectrum of choices for the students. Traditional fine arts methods, techniques and studios are also available for the students. Each student has a personal tutor teacher who helps you to develop your own artistic language. Technical support is also available when working in the workshops.
The degree includes a thesis work, which is a personal art project combined with a written report. During the studies the students can produce a personal or a joint publication.
To qualify for the degree, applicants must have Bachelor of Fine Arts or a similar applied higher education degree with strong visual skills, plus at least three years’ work experience after graduation.

The degree programme of fine arts will be transformed to Lappeenranta, Skinnarila Campus in autumn 2019. Until then, studies continue as usual.
