The Academy enjoys a vibrant guitar environment featuring chamber music, recitals, and collaboration projects with professional ensembles and orchestras. You will be playing chamber music in a rich and professionally challenging study environment featuring all instruments.
We regularly arrange master classes with guest teachers such as Marco Socias, Alex Garrobé, Roberto Aussel or Timo Korhonen.
In recent years, several current and former Academy guitar students have participated in international competitions and festivals, winning more than 25 prizes between them.
We collaborate closely with the Jazz/pop and Electronic music departments at the Academy who regularly make use of classical musicians in their projects. As a classical musician, you also have good opportunities for finding collaboration partners yourself among the jazz/pop and electronic music students.
The pedagogical programmes are executed in collaboration with music schools and Academy preparation courses throughout the region.
Following an audition, you may be selected for soloist assignments with both symphony orchestras and chamber orchestras. The Academy’s great concert halls give you ample opportunity for playing and preparing for concerts and auditions.
Associate Professor Frederik Munk Larsen works with research projects in addition to tuition and is a soloist and master class teacher in international demand. Frederik is a regular member of the new music ensemble Scenatet and the Curious Chamber Players, and he has premiered several works. For more information, click the photo links to the right.
You will also meet lutenist and early music and performance practice expert Viggo Mangor, and guitarist and Academy preparation course teacher Morten Skott who has significant experience with guitar pedagogics.
Soloist tuition is based on the needs and level of each individual student.
