INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

The Master’s programme in Industrial Design at Aalborg University focuses on an integrated process of concept design, construction and product development. Aesthetical competencies and creativity in the design development process are combined with knowledge of construction, product development, ergonomics, materials, environment, design management and economy.

The Industrial Design projects are often done in collaboration with different companies, as design engineers should be able to understand the progress in a strategic perspective from the company’s angle.

During the Master’s programme you will meet a wide range of teachers who will present you with new knowledge in key areas. The programme is internationally oriented, and attracts Danish as well as international students. Furthermore the educational programme offers the opportunity of an internship or/and an external study as well as study trips inside and outside Denmark during the semester.

FROM IDEA TO MARKET

With a Master’s degree in Industrial Design you will gain an understanding of product design and business perspectives. You will be capable of combining solutions and products that are innovative as well as functional.

The combination of business understanding, analytical skills, aesthetic and technical knowledge and competences within concept development and leadership will enable you to develop products and services – from idea to production and marketing. You will become an expert in managing and structuring projects in all phases.

MSC IN ENGINEERING OR MSC IN TECHNOLOGY?

The programme is offered as a MSc in Engineering and a MSc in Technology programme. The MSc in Engineering programme is for students with a bachelor in Architecture. The MSc in Technology programme is for students with a different background but at the same academic level.
