The Master’s Programme in Information and Service Management (ISM) gives you in-depth expertise in developing and managing information-based services – one of the primary growth areas of advanced economies.

Programme overview

The interdisciplinary programme has a strong emphasis on data analysis and project management. The skills you learn will help you analyse the ever-growing supply of information, as well as manage new technologies and electronic business operations.

In the Master’s Programme in Information and Service Management (ISM), you can focus on one of three areas of specialisation: Business Analytics, Information Systems, and Logistics and Service Management.

Admission requirements

Required previous studies

 

To be considered for admission the applicant must have completed at least 24 ECTS credits of such studies that give ability to start the advanced studies in the programme. The credits completed in the following subjects, or subjects that the Aalto University School of Business considers to be corresponding, may be considered: Logistics, Management Science, Information Systems Science, Technology Management, Business Mathematics and Statistics. Theses or internships cannot be included in these credits. The previous credits in the core area of the programme giving the ability to start the advanced studies are assessed by a representative of the programme.

 

The applicants that fulfill the above requirement of previous studies are ranked according to:

  1. Overall evaluation of previous studies
    Applicants must demonstrate good academic performance. To be eligible, an applicant’s weighted GPA of the previous degree must be better than “good” on the grading scale of the university granting the degree. Applicants with a weighted GPA of previous degree lower than “good” are not eligible.
  2. GMAT score (or comparable GRE score)
    GMAT or GRE is obligatory in admission group 2 (minimum score 550 in GMAT or equivalent GRE score).
  3. Amount and weighted GPA of previous studies giving the ability to start the advanced studies.
  4. CV
  5. Motivational letter
