This is a Master’s Programme for anyone who is interested in how societal issues are connected to welfare, health and lifestyle. The one-year programme prepares you for both research and work in an international context.
About the education
The Nordic Model is recognised by core values like equal rights and opportunities, democracy, security and trust, creativity and innovation, and sustainability. Outside the Nordic region, the model is usually presented as ONE model, while within the Nordic countries the model is usually discussed in plural. Nevertheless, the similarities of the model are usually larger than the differences, even within the Nordic region.
Based on the Nordic model, you will study issues relating to lifestyle and wellbeing, participation, multiculturalism, social security, civil society, the welfare society’s new challenges like globalisation and digitalisation as well as issues that are related to the importance of work for the individual and society.
The Master’s Programme in Nordic Welfare is interdisciplinary with Health and Lifestyle as the main field. The studies prepare you for both research and work in an international context. You are studying with students from other parts of the world and thus have the opportunity to create your own international contacts. The programme has also a strong connection to work and organisation through case studies.
