Design and analysis of buildings and infrastructures

Studying the Master’s programme in Structural and Civil Engineering at AAU, you will work with the design and analysis of buildings and infrastructures. This includes land-based structures, offshore installations, harbours, coastal protection as well as structural design of devices for energy. One of the issues that will be addressed is the increasing demand for safety against environmental hazards such as earthquakes, floods and wind.

In your semester projects, you and your project group will work with complex and relevant issues in relation to structural and civil engineering, that challenge you to use all of your academic knowledge to come up with possible solutions. You are encouraged to occasionally collaborate with external organisations and businesses in your projects to get an idea of the work processes and current issues in the industry. This will prepare you better for your own work life after you graduate.

This is a full-time study programme, which is characterised by problem based project work in groups. You will be working closely with other students most of the time, and you are required to be present at the university on a daily basis and spend a vast majority of your day there.

The Master’s programme entitles you to the designation Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering (Structural and Civil Engineering).

As a graduate from Structural and Civil Engineering, many professional fields are open to you. Your future job title could be for instance consulting engineer, practicing engineer, coordinator, development engineer, researcher and/or teacher at a university etc.

APPLICATION AND REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the programme requires a Bachelor’s degree in Structural and Civil Engineering or the like. Each applicant is evaluated individually.

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil Engineering with specialisation in Structural and Civil Engineering), Aalborg University
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Civil Engineering; Structural and Civil Engineering)
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Aalborg University (Campus Esbjerg)
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering with specialisation in Structural and Civil Engineering, Aalborg University (Campus Aalborg)
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, Aalborg University (Campus Esbjerg)
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Construction Engineering), Technical University of Denmark
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (Construction Engineering), Technical University of Denmark
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Structural Engineering, Aarhus University – School of Engineering
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, University of Southern Denmark
  • Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, VIA University College
