“The EIT Label is a quality seal awarded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) to a KIC educational programme that has been assessed positively by the EIT on the implementation of the EIT Quality Assurance and Learning Enhancement (EIT QALE) system and the application of specific quality criteria with focus on the EIT Overarching Learning Outcomes (EIT OLOs), robust entrepreneurship education, highly integrated, innovative ‘learning‐by‐doing’ curricula, international mobility and outreach.”

“SINReM is also recognised as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree and offering high quality education integrated with mobility between three high-class academic institutions; Uppsala University, Gent University and Bergakademie Freiberg University of Technology.”

WHY THIS PROGRAMME?

Sustainable and Innovative Natural Resource Management (SINReM), within the Master’s programme in Earth Science, is a joint Master’s degree from three excellent European universities. You will be part of a large community of 115 partners in science, academia and industry from 22 countries within the EIT RawMaterials, engaged in developing solutions for the future.

In SINReM you learn to innovatively explore for new resources, promote sustainable use of resources in products and production processes, reduce waste generation, develop secondary (alternative) resources as well as recovery recycling of resources from end-of-life products.

During the programme you can expect to:

  • study the complete raw materials value chain and associated circular economy
  • innovatively explore and process new resources
  • learn about sustainable use of resources in products and production processes

SINReM is a joint programme between Uppsala University, the University of Ghent and Freiberg University of Technology and fosters collaboration with raw materials companies. SINReM is co-financed by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and consequently fosters creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship.

Student profile
You have a strong foundation in Science or engineering and you have a passion for discovering innovative, new solutions to technical problems. You can critically analyse and reflect on problems and are creative and innovative enough to come up with your own ideas. Therefore you expect to contribute as much to the educational experience of others as you expect to learn from their experience and knowledge.
