The programme offers advanced insights into the tourist industry and provides student with the opportunity to develop their knowledge and interests within the field of tourism.

The programme offers broad perspectives on tourism by combining various scientific approaches. Students meet researchers not only from the Faculty of Social Science, but also from the Humanities and Sciences introducing issues related to history, ethnology and ecology.

The programme qualifies succesful students for work in tourism within public and private sector.

Eligibility

Basic requirements: A Bachelor’s degree (equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, 180 ECTS) from an internationally recognised university. Special Requirements: at least 90 ECTS-credits in Tourism/ Geography/ Human Geography/ Regional Science/ Planning/ Hospitality/ Hotel and Restaurant Management/ Service Management/ Leisure/ Recreation/ Park Management or similar tourism-related subjects. Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English B/6 (IELTS (Academic) with a minimum overall score of 6.5 and no individual score below 5.5. TOEFL PBT (Paper-based Test) with a minimum score of 575 and a minimum TWE score of 4.5). TOEFL iBT (Internet-based Test) with a minimum score of 90 and a minimum score of 20 on the Writing Section). If you are still working towards your undergraduate degree, you need to include with your application a document from your current University, outlining when you are expected to graduate as well as a course outline for the last semester.
